During the weekend of May 31 to June 1, 2008, I went on a hiking trip to Parvathamalai Mountain. This mountain is part of the Javadhi Hills nearby Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, India. Here is a brief description of this trip, which was organized by The Chennai Trekking Club.
The same description is also available in German

Before the trekking started, we spent a bit of time in Tiruvannamalai and its famous temple.
Then finally in the afternoon, we started on the trek up Parvathamalai Mountain. On top of the mountain lies a small temple and an ashram. That served us well for the night, as it was raining heavily. The final part of the trek is very steep. Iron rods driven into the rock help in finding a grip.
